MILLER, C.J.: The appellant is a voluntary association of several local unions of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, AFL-CIO, and among its other functions, acts as the collective bargaining agent for members of its constituent local unions and as representative of the majority of all persons employed as carpenters in the Detroit area. Appellee is an employer of members of the Carpenters Union. This action was brought by the appellee in the District Court under provisions of Sec. 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, Sec. 185, Title 29, U.S. Code, seeking to enjoin the appellant from continuing to breach a collective bargaining agreement and from causing and instructing its members to refuse to work for the appellee.
